Hoggard claims early wicket

Matthew Hoggard moved into sixth place in England's list of Test wicket-takers with an early breakthrough on the third morning at Chester-le-Street.

Yorkshire's Hoggard removed West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo (44) in the fifth full over of the day to take his Test tally to 237 victims.

But Shivnarine Chanderpaul passed 50 for the fourth time in a row in this npower series in a score of 170 for five.

Left-hander Chanderpaul, whose Test career began with four half-centuries in as many outings against England, struck eight fours in reaching a 99-ball 50.
