Hoggard ready to knuckle down

Swing bowler Hoggard, 31, was dropped by the selectors in New Zealand over the winter along with new-ball partner Steve Harmison but he believes that consistent county form will put him back in the minds of the selectors.
"I will go quietly about my business just like I normally do," said Hoggard. "It was a big kick in the teeth, very disappointing - but it is part of international sport."
He added: "You get the downs, which I am experiencing at the moment, but hopefully I can experience some more ups when I get back in the side.
"There is no greater motivation than plonking on a Yorkshire shirt or an England shirt. If you need any more motivation then you retire and go to the IPL.
"I have just got to keep knocking on the door and giving the selectors some headaches. Hopefully they will open the door and let me back in."
England's first Test of the summer against New Zealand is at Lord's on May 15 and Hoggard does not envisage having to change much to enhance his claims.
He has undoubtedly been his country's most consistent bowler since last being dropped in December 2003.
"I had a bad game," said Hoggard. "Other people have lots of bad games and don't worry about it. I can't beat myself up about something that I don't think I have done dramatically wrong.
"I think that it was more of a shock because I hadn't performed badly for two years. It was one or maybe two bad games. But I can't really shout at the selectors too much because they won the two games after they dropped me."
