Hudson joins Falcons

Newcastle Falcons have signed London Irish forward James Hudson.

The 27-year-old lock has agreed a two-year deal with the club having scored three tries in 19 starts for the Exiles this season.

Falcons director of rugby Steve Bates said: "James is a proven performer at Guinness Premiership level and will add a huge amount to our team."

He added: "His line-out skills are renowned right throughout the league, he is a class operator who knows what it is all about and he will be a quality addition to our squad."

Hudson made his Guinness Premiership bow with Bath and has also represented England Saxons.
