Hughes takes heart as City top group

Racing Santander chalked up a comfortable 3-1 victory in Spain thanks to goals from Jonathan Pereira, Oscar Serrano and Juan Valera before Felipe Caicedo pulled one back in stoppage time. City, however, finished top of the pool and will face a third-placed team from one of the other groups.
Hughes said: "We have topped the group and that was the order of the day. We are grateful for that."
He added: "Ideally we would have preferred to have won the game but credit to Racing, they are a good team. Their motivation was to try to get into the next round. We had already qualified so that might have taken a little bit of edge out of our game."
The downside is that Robinho is doubtful for the Barclays Premier League game against West Brom on Sunday.
The former Real Madrid striker suffered a recurrence of an ankle injury in Santander.
Robinho made a surprise start for City but played only 45 minutes as he was struggling with the problem.
Manager Mark Hughes said: "Robinho was not able to continue so he is a big doubt for the weekend. It it his ankle again. We are staying here overnight so we will check everyone in the morning.
"He has made a great impression on everyone in Manchester, scoring eight goals in the Premier League. We are delighted with his impact.
"In the last three games he has been struggling with an injury and that was again a concern to him. We are pleased with what he has produced."
