Hull continue winning start

Craig Hall and Kirk Yeaman each scored twice as Hull maintained their 100 per cent engage Super League start with a 36-24 win at Bradford.

The visitors ran in six tries at the Grattan Stadium to notch up their fifth win of the season and leave the Bulls still looking for their first after four outings.

Richard Horne, in fine form after an injury-ravaged 2008, also got on the scoresheet along with Chris Thorman while Danny Tickle booted six goals to take his season's tally to 23.

Yet despite dominating, Hull could not quite kill off the game and Bradford kept the scoreline respectable with tries from Ben Jeffries, Rikki Sheriffe, Semi Tadulala and Steve Menzies.

Meanwhile, with three weeks to go before the two sides meet again in the Carnegie Challenge Cup, Crusaders coach John Dixon will be hoping for an improvement from his side after they made a bright start but then fell away in their 48-18 defeat to Hull KR at Craven Park.

The hosts led 16-12 at the break with tries from Kris Welham, Nick Fozzard and Clint Newton. Peter Lupton and Darren Mapp scored for the visitors.

But Rovers ran away with it after the break as Chev Walker, Clint Newton (2), Ben Galea, Michael Dobson and Liam Colbon all claimed tries.

And in the day's other game Wakefield recorded a 30-10 win over struggling Catalans Dragons at Belle Vue.

Wildcats raced into an early 12-0 lead through tries by Sean Gleeson and Tony Martin but Jean Philippe Baile and Dimitri Pelo crossed and Thomas Bosc added a goal to make it 12-10 at half-time.

Damien Blanch and Ryan Atkins crossed in the third quarter to take the game away from the visitors. And in the final minute Aaron Murphy pounced on a mistake by Steve Bell to score a fifth try for the hosts.
