Hull sign Tottenham's Gardner

Gardner joins the Barclays Premier League newcomers to improve his prospects of first-team action.
The 27-year-old joined Tottenham from Port Vale in 2000 and has made 144 senior appearances.
Gardner had hoped a move to Everton in January last season would revive his fortunes, after falling down the order at Tottenham.
However the centre-back, who won one England cap in 2004, could not force his way into the Everton first team and left Goodison Park without making an appearance.
He will spend the first half of the new season at the KC Stadium following the agreement with Tottenham, who have Jonathan Woodgate, Ledley King and Michael Dawson competing for places in central defence.
Meanwhile, Spurs are in talks with Blackburn over the transfer of England midfielder David Bentley.
Rovers chairman John Williams has confirmed they are in negotiations with the Londoners but insisted to BBC Radio Lancashire they had not accepted a bid from Spurs for the 23-year-old.
Blackburn have already rejected offers from Spurs and Aston Villa for Bentley, who has been valued at £17million.
Tottenham have money to spend after agreeing to sell Republic of Ireland international Robbie Keane to Liverpool for a fee which could total £20.3million.
