Humiliating defeat for England

England suffered one of their most humiliating defeats in Test history after a calamitous collapse against West Indies at Sabina Park.

Andrew Strauss' team went down by an innings and 23 runs after being bundled out for just 51 on the fourth afternoon.

Only Andrew Flintoff managed double figures as the tourists were obliterated by the home attack.

West Indies pace bowler Jerome Taylor destroyed the top order, claiming the prize scalp of Kevin Pietersen among his five victims.

And giant left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn weighed in with four successes as England were thrashed in double quick time.

Taylor's astonishing new-ball spell left England's second innings in tatters and they were eventually dismissed at 2.35pm when Steve Harmison dragged an attempted sweep at Benn into his stumps.

Only Flintoff's aggressive hitting propelled England beyond their lowest score of 45, made against Australia in Sydney in 1886-87.

Having conceded a 74-run deficit on first innings, the tourists imploded either side of lunch.

Earlier, Broad claimed a maiden five-wicket haul in Tests, finishing with five for 85 in West Indies' 392.
