ICC president dies

The International Cricket Council have announced that their president Percy Sonn has died, aged 57.

South African Sonn experienced complications after a minor colon operation, which he underwent during the recent World Cup.

He returned to the Caribbean to present Australia with their trophy but his health deteriorated on his return to his homeland.

ICC chief executive Malcolm Speed led the tributes, saying: "He was immensely popular among the ICC's staff, a friend to me and he could brighten the darkest day because, invariably, he had a smile on his face.

"He will be sorely missed and his wife Sandra and family are in all our prayers."
