Injuries added to insult for Worcester

As if the 22-17 home reversal was not bad enough, the Warriors are now reeling from a succession of injuries. Prop Matt Mullan, a member of this season's England Saxons elite squad, suffered hamstring trouble that could sideline him for several weeks, while Marcel Garvey, Dale Rasmussen, Graham Kitchener and Shaun Ruwers were also hurt.
Worcester rugby director Mike Ruddock said: "We have suffered some nasty injuries - it was an expensive night, not just in terms of not getting the result and not performing."
He added: "Matt's injury looks a serious one. At minimum, I would have thought we are looking at six weeks. The medics are usually pretty spot on, and they say it is serious."
Wing Garvey has a suspected broken hand, with centre Rasmussen suffering a knee ligament tear, lock Kitchener injuring his shoulder and prop Ruwers ripping a tendon at the bottom of his toe.
Worcester, who continue their Challenge Cup campaign away to Olympus Madrid Saturday week, now face an uphill struggle to secure a quarter-final place as only the pool winners will progress.
