Injury blow for Pienaar

Everton winger Steven Pienaar has been ruled out for up to seven weeks after breaking his toe.

The club have stated they do not expect to see him back in contention until the end of September.

Head physio Mick Rathbone told evertonfc.com: "We can confirm that Steven Pienaar has broken the big toe in his right foot."

Pienaar suffered the setback in the draw against PSV Eindhoven in a friendly at the weekend.

The extent of the injury was confirmed on Tuesday morning following the result of x-rays on the injured area.
