Injury setback for Neville

Manchester United captain Gary Neville has suffered another setback in his recovery from long-term injury.

Neville has not featured for the Red Devils since breaking an ankle against Bolton at the beginning of March and, despite hope of returns on several occasions, Sir Alex Ferguson has now confirmed Neville will not fly to Rome for next week's Champions League encounter as previously suggested.

"Gary has had another setback," said Ferguson.

He added: "Obviously it is disappointing. He has gone back to the specialist for him to have another look at it but at the moment there is nothing positive on that at all."

Ferguson has previously suggested Neville's problems are not career threatening, which is a stance he is still sticking to despite the latest unhappy news.

"It is not getting serious," he said. "He just keeps getting niggling injuries. It is a concern that he gets small setbacks every time he gets ready to play. We need to sort it out and get him back as soon as possible."
