Ishant stalls Australia bid

Ishant Sharma struck two early blows to halt Australia's pursuit of victory on the final day of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar series against India in Nagpur.

Australia openers Simon Katich and Matthew Hayden had resumed the chase in earnest and had looked to take the attack to India's bowlers.

But paceman Ishant disposed of Katich for 16 and Michael Clarke for 22, while captain Ricky Ponting was run out for eight as Australia stuttered to 111 for three at lunch.

Hayden was undefeated on 46 with Michael Hussey unbeaten on 14 as Australia still need 271 more runs to secure victory and level the series.
