Jaaskelainen blow for Trotters

Bolton manager Gary Megson has confirmed that goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen will miss the remainder of the club's season with a back problem.

The 32-year-old Finland international was absent from Wanderers' Barclays Premier League defeat by Wigan at the JJB Stadium on Sunday.

Oman goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has taken over from Jaaskelainen and played in the 1-0 defeat, and Megson also has the experienced Ian Walker at his disposal.

Megson told www.bwfc.co.uk: "He needs six weeks of rest to try and resolve this problem, and he is going to need some form of surgery.

"Either way, his season is over."
