Jewell promises summer overhaul

Derby manager Paul Jewell promised "major surgery" in the summer and insisted the "mentality" of the club has to change.

It was the sixth time this season the Rams have conceded six goals, and Jewell admitted it was a familiar story at Pride Park.

He told Setanta Sports: "In the first half we were terrific but it took so much out of us."

He added: "The second half you're thinking 'let's try to do same'. But the goals we gave away, and the opportunities Arsenal had, it could have been anything.

"We got it back to 3-2 and within a minute it was 4-2. We need the season to be over as soon as possible.

"We've already made moves behind the scenes so let's move on. We are playing miles above our level, let's regroup and start again.

"The whole mentality of the club has to change. When adversity hits you you've got to roll your sleeves up and fight and we haven't got that.

"With the addition of a few quality players, and a few quality men, we're hoping to change that."
