Johnson demands fast start

Martin Johnson has warned his England side they must seize the initiative in the opening exchanges of Saturday's clash with Argentina in Salta.

England will complete a 2-0 series victory and secure their fourth successive Test victory if they topple the Pumas at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena.

"Argentina are a team you want to get ahead of - you don't want to be chasing the game because of the way they control the ball and their kicking game," said Johnson.

"We've got to impose ourselves on them, get away from our 22 and put the pressure on them rather than inviting the pressure back on ourselves.

"I think it will be very tight. It will come down to kicking goals - that will be very important.

"There were opportunities last week when we could have kept the ball in hand more and then there were times when we did, but we didn't execute well.

"If we can improve on that then hopefully it will give us the chance to score tries when we're down in their end.

"But we have to get down there - you're not going to score tries from 80 yards out very often in Test rugby."
