Jones set for Worcestershire switch

The 28-year-old has given the Pears a strong indication that he is willing to move to New Road from Glamorgan on a two-year contract.
"Technically I cannot confirm this at the moment but we are encouraged by what Simon has said in the last 24 hours," Worcestershire chief executive Mark Newton said. "He has given us a significant indication that he wants to join us but we are not in a position to announce anything for a couple of days."
He added: "If it goes ahead, it will be great news for us because he is a quality bowler."
It is a major coup for Worcestershire, who in their heyday of the mid 1980s were able to attract England stars like Ian Botham and Graham Dilley.
Jones' signing is expected to be announced at a press conference on Friday.
Worcestershire have performed stringent medical tests to ensure Jones will be able to relaunch his career after three years where he has been dogged by knee problems.
If he can prove his fitness he will be a major addition to a Worcestershire attack which was clearly below strength last season and relied too heavily on another England paceman in Kabir Ali.
Glamorgan chief executive Mike Fatkin said: "Naturally we're disappointed that Simon has turned down our offer and decided to leave Glamorgan.
"However, we appreciate that it's been a difficult decision for him and if this is what he believes gives him his best chance of playing again for England, then we respect that."
