Judge reserves ruling on Cardiff loans

The financial future of FA Cup semi-finalists Cardiff was still hanging in the balance on Thursday after a High Court judge delayed his ruling on a move by bankers to force immediate repayment of loans worth £24million.

Swiss investment bank Langston is seeking "summary judgment" against the Coca-Cola Championship club, whose lawyers have argued that the dispute should go forward to a full trial of the action.

After a two-day hearing in London, Mr Justice Briggs said he would take time to consider his ruling. Judgment may be given next Wednesday.

The club faces the prospect of being put into administration if Langston succeeds in its claim.
