Juve chief plays down Sissoko link
14 January 2008
The Mali international said on Thursday he was "very close" to joining the Turin giants while Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez admitted on Saturday the Merseysiders were waiting for the "right club and the right offer" for the 22-year-old.
It seems that club will not be Juve, though, with Cobolli Gigli stating on Sunday: "Juventus will not make any acquisitions in the January transfer market."
He added: "It's normal to dream of big players but in order for dreams to come true, we need to wait for the right moment to come along."
Juve drew 1-1 at Catania on Saturday and are third in the standings, 10 points behind Serie A leaders Internazionale.
Sissoko's former club Valencia are also reportedly in the hunt for his signature.
Benitez said before his team's 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough on Saturday: "I was talking with 'Momo' about leaving a few times, and with his agent.
"We know we have two or three clubs asking about him and we will try to find the best solution for him and for us."
