Keane can be top boss - Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson is convinced Roy Keane has what it takes to be a top class manager.

The pair go head to head for the first time at Old Trafford on Saturday as Manchester United look to take advantage of Sunderland's injury crisis by recording the second win of their Premier League title defence.

"Roy has the wherewithall to be a top class manager," Ferguson told Setanta Sports. "Some people can't make decisions. Roy can. He is a good decision maker."

He added: "I spoke to him several times about being a manager and when he started to take his coaching badges I felt he was doing things in the right way."
