The 27-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year contract after leaving Aalborg, where he was top scorer in Denmark's Super League last season.
Keane told the club's official website, www.safc.com: "Rade is an experienced striker with a good goalscoring record. He is hungry to play in the Premier League and will give us attacking options."
Prica, who has scored twice in 13 senior appearances for Sweden, began his career with home-town club Ljungby before moving to Helsingborg.
He then experienced life in the German Bundesliga with Hansa Rostock before joining Aalborg in July 2006.
Prica follows loan signing Jonny Evans and defenders Jean-Yves Mvoto and Phil Bardsley to the Stadium of Light.
