Keane eyeing Cole move

The 35-year-old Cole has been looking for a new club after being released by Portsmouth this summer and the Sunderland boss is considering making him one of two more signings before the transfer window closes.
Keane, who played alongside the veteran forward when both men were at Manchester United, said: "Coley has obviously left Portsmouth and that is something I am looking at, I have to say, at the moment. There will probably be news on one or two players who will be coming in."
Keane's interest in Cole has once again displayed his willingness to cross the traditional north-east divide. Sunderland's winning goal on Saturday was scored by born-and-bred Geordie Michael Chopra.
And the Black Cats boss is likely to increase his interest in Cole after apparently missing out on Spurs' Egyptian striker Mido, who is undergoing a medical at Middlesbrough.
Keane added: "Generally speaking, if we could add two players in next week or two I would be delighted. I am very pleased with the players we have got in but I do believe we need two more players to help the squad."
