Khan could quit UK

Amir Khan has indicated his willingness to relocate to the United States if that is what it takes to link up with a world-class trainer and continue his rise towards the top of his sport.

Khan is currently considering his options after dispensing with the services of former trainer Oliver Harrison and employing Dean Powell, who is likely to be a temporary appointment, to oversee his next fight against Michael Gomez in Birmingham next month.

"At the moment I like to be train over here and in an ideal world I'd like an American coach to come over here," said Khan. "But if it came down to the fact that I had to go to America, I'd do that."

He added: "I'd like to take that chance. It would be a different atmosphere over there and a different environment to learn in.

"I think it could bring something different out in me. I would look forward to the challenge."

America-based trainers Buddy McGirt and Roger Mayweather have being mentioned as possible longer-term appointments to take over from Powell.
