Kimi claims pole

Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen claimed pole position for Sunday's European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring in Germany.

McLaren's Fernando Alonso will start from second, with Raikkonen's team-mate Felipe Massa third.

Championship leader Lewis Hamilton will start in 10th position if he is fit enough to compete after crashing out of qualifying.

Nick Heidfeld is fourth on the grid ahead of BMW Sauber team-mate Robert Kubica, with Mark Webber sixth for Red Bull Racing and Heikki Kovalainen seventh for Renault.

They were followed by the Toyotas of Jarno Trulli and Ralf Schumacher, with Hamilton completing the top 10.

The Williams duo of Nico Rosberg and Alex Wurz start 11th and 12th ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella, 13th for Renault, and the Honda of Rubens Barrichello in 14th.
