King in search of more glory

In-form trainer Alan King is hoping history can repeat itself when Voy Por Ustedes bids for back-to-back victories in the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase on day two of the Cheltenham Festival.

The seven-year-old's preparations have not gone exactly to plan, and after winning a Kempton Grade Two event at Christmas he came unstuck at the hands of Master Minded in the Game Spirit at Newbury.

King, on a high after winning the Champion Hurdle with Katchit, said: "He got beat last year before he went on to win it. He's in good form and he loves the track. A strong pace should suit him and I think he'll run very well."

Ruby Walsh partners Master Minded of the two Paul Nicholls runners following his Newbury success, with Sam Thomas aboard Twist Magic.

Although Master Minded is the favourite, Nicholls admits he finds it hard to make a call between the two. "At home you wouldn't split them," he said.

"Twist Magic has already beaten Voy Por Ustedes at Sandown, he just wouldn't want the ground too soft.

"Master Minded has done everything right since the Game Spirit. He has to overcome inexperience, but is a nice horse."

Tamarinbleu caused an upset when running Twist Magic into the ground to win the Victor Chandler Chase at Ascot and connections are hoping for a repeat performance.

"He's very well and has been tremendous," said Martin Pipe, father of trainer David. "He jumped well and ran a great race last time. It looks like being a very exciting race and we are all looking forward to it."
