King set for Fulham

Fulham have moved a step closer to signing striker Marlon King from Watford after the Hertfordshire club confirmed they had agreed a £5million fee for his transfer.

The former Jamaica international will now discuss personal terms with the west Londoners, with Collins John going the other way on loan.

King has scored 37 goals in 82 starts for the Hornets, who have rejected previous bids from the Cottagers for the 27-year-old.

The striker told Sky Sports News: "I've got fond memories of Watford but this is a new chapter in my life.

"Last time in the Premier League my season was cut short by injury but this opportunity has come up. We've got Arsenal on Saturday and I'm looking forward to that.

"It's disappointing because I've got a lot of mates at Watford.

"The fans have been magnificent to me, and the chairman and manager didn't want me to go.

"But in my heart I knew it's an opportunity I've got to seize and I'm looking forward to the new challenge.

"I'm going to be a Watford fan now and look out for their result - hopefully Fulham stay up and that'll be the ideal fixture for me next season.

"I wouldn't be here if I didn't think Fulham had the chance of staying up."
