Kinnear backs Magpies to soar

The Magpies looked to be heading for a third successive draw at St James' Park before substitute Damien Duff chose the perfect moment to score his second goal of the season and erase the bitter memories of late collapses against Wigan and Stoke in the two previous games on Tyneside.
Kinnear said: "I am looking upwards, really, but I am still well aware you could get on a bad run just as well as get on a good run. If we were to stay injury-free, I would be permanently looking up."
He added: "I came in here under difficult terms and it was a case of getting on with the job.
"I have always felt confident that I am capable of doing that and making sure no-one else gets it, and hopefully it will continue in the same vein.
"I have a good relationship with all the players and I am getting the best out of them, and that's the only thing that really keeps you in a job, your results."
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp said: "At half-time, I came in and said to the players, 'I wouldn't take a point here today, there are three points for us if we go out and attack it in the right way'.
"To come away with nothing was very disappointing in the end.
"We didn't deserve to lose, that's for sure."
