Knight signs new Fulham deal
06 January 2007
The 27-year-old only made a limited impact last season after suffering a freak jaw injury but has committed to the club until 2010.
Boss Lawrie Sanchez said: "Since I arrived at the club I've been impressed with Zat's commitment and attitude both on and off the pitch. He has a good understanding of the game which is reflected in his positional play."
Knight, capped twice by England twice, was tipped to move from Fulham as Sanchez shapes his squad for his first full Premier League campaign.
The defender apologised last season for a clash with fans following defeat to Tottenham and had been linked with a move to Sunderland and Birmingham before agreeing to stay with his current club.
Sanchez added: "It's no secret that we conceded too many goals last season and that's something I'm determined to change," Sanchez added.
"With the right back four, that will happen, and I'm sure that Zat will have a big part to play in my plans, so I'm delighted that he has committed his future to Fulham."
