KP plays down injuries

Wednesday's six-wicket victory at the Barabati Stadium was England's fifth in a row and came at a greater cost than just their pride with injuries to Stuart Broad and Andrew Flintoff putting them in doubt for Saturday's sixth match in Guwahati.
"Injuries are a big concern because I'm suffering, Freddie is suffering and Broady is suffering but I'll be fine and I'll play," stressed captain Kevin Pietersen. "There are a few niggles knocking about but I don't really want to talk about the niggles - it's time for us to stand up and be counted."
Nottinghamshire seamer Broad is the biggest concern after suffering a left hamstring strain which forced him off the field without completing his ninth over of the match.
All-rounder Flintoff is less of a worry but he turned his left ankle for the second successive match although England have stressed it is not the same problem which has forced him to have four operations.
Pietersen has also injured his right side but insists he will play in Guwahati but with Ryan Sidebottom already ruled out with a side strain, England have called up Lancashire's Sajid Mahmood and uncapped Kent seamer Amjad Khan from the Performance Programme squad in Bangalore as cover.
The injuries are the latest setback to hit the tourists since they arrived three weeks ago and Pietersen admits he is almost at a loss to find a formula to beat India's powerful line-up.
Wednesday's defeat confirmed England's latest run as their worst since losing 5-0 at home to Sri Lanka in 2006 and, asked how his side could halt India's winning run, Pietersen admitted: I don't know - hopefully they won't turn up in Guwahati!
"We've just got to keep doing what we do. The guys are together, there is no split in the dressing room and that's one of the positives. We've just got to keep going.
"The confidence and their no-fear factor is huge in that Indian dressing room. They're playing fantastic cricket and I would like to see a team that could beat India out here in a series, but we've got two games left and I really want us to win them both."
