Chelsea's bus was hit by a brick which smashed one of the side windows as they arrived for the Barclays Premiership clash, but none of the Chelsea players were hurt in the incident which happened as they approached the ground before kick-off.
Lampard said: "The window got shattered on the way in. It made a huge bang, but that's football - it happens because there are emotions."
He added: "West Ham are fighting for their lives and their fans have so much emotion. I don't think there is too much point on dwelling on it as long as no-one gets hurt. We move on."
Two goals from Shaun Wright-Phillips and others from Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba, his 31st of the season gave Chelsea an easy 4-1 win over West Ham who briefly levelled through Carlos Tevez.
The win cut Manchester United's lead at the top of the Barclays Premiership to three points while West Ham are now in dire relegation trouble at the opposite end of the table.
