The former England captain made 36 off 31 balls but there was little else to come in the Yorkshire innings as they finished their 20 overs on 105 for eight.
South African Ashwell Prince may be a relative novice in the Twenty20 game, this being his 13th game in the shortened format, but he looked an old hand in rattling off 44 from 36 balls as Lancashire won with 27 balls to spare.
Durham, who like Yorkshire edged to a narrow victory in their opening game, also struggled badly as they lost by 59 runs to Derbyshire at the Riverside.
Garry Park's 50 helped the visitors make 175 for six, and he then took two wickets as Durham were bowled out for 116 in 15.3 overs.
Australian left-hander Chris Rogers also made a half-century for Derbyshire, while Stuart Law hit 42 off just 25 balls.
Luke Wright's 58 off 46 balls helped Sussex pile up a total of 184 for nine off their 20 overs at the Oval, and Surrey could not match it as the loss of three quick wickets in the middle order proved their undoing.
When Mark Ramprakash went for 23, Scott Newman (38) and James Benning (6) swiftly followed to leave Surrey on 81 for four.
Stewart Walters did his best to keep their chances alive with 34 off 20 balls, but got little support as Michael Yardy collected three wickets for 21.
