Late tries see Wigan home

Martin Gleeson and Amos Roberts touched down late on as Wigan killed off a Bradford fightback to maintain their engage Super League play-off challenge with a 20-14 win.

The right-wing pair both crossed in the final six minutes at the Grattan Stadium after the Bulls had hit back from 12-0 down to take the lead.

James Donaldson's first Bradford try and another effort from Chris Nero had threatened to revive the Bulls' fading top-eight hopes but Wigan's late surge condemned them to a fifth straight loss.

Huddersfield cemented their third-place spot with a victory that keeps Warrington out of the play-off picture.

The Giants led 18-0 at the break as scrum-half Luke Robinson had a hand in all three tries as Wolves struggled.

Ben Westwood gave Warrington a bit of hope, but the impressive Leroy Cudjoe grabbed his second try, and Michael Lawrence rubbed salt in the wound, while Brett Hodgson kicked four goals.

Catalans Dragons ran in seven tries as they kept their engage Super League play-off hopes alive by wearing down a tough Harlequins side 38-16 in Perpignan.

Dimitri Pelo crossed twice for the French side while Olivier Elima, Thomas Bosc, Jean-Philippe Baile, Steven Bell and Casey McGuire also touched down in a hard-fought encounter in fierce heat.

Quins defended superbly for most of the game but were eventually edged out despite tries from Ryan Esders, Luke Gale and Gareth Haggerty.

The victory was Catalans' fifth in seven games and lifted them to 10th while Quins have now slipped to eighth after five successive defeats.
