Laursen blow for Villa

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has revealed captain Martin Laursen will be out for up to four weeks with a knee injury.

The Danish centre-half missed Friday's crucial 2-2 draw with Arsenal after sustaining the problem against West Ham last week, and it now seems the injury is more serious than had been anticipated, although Villa are hopeful Laursen will not need surgery.

O'Neill told Sky Sports: "He's going to be a few weeks, he's had an injection to try and get the knee settling down."

He added: "We thought it might require surgery but we're feeling it might settle down and he could return more quickly than if he'd had the operation.

"We're talking about three or four weeks."
