The 31-year-old Senior, whose current deal was due to run out at the end of the season, will now stay at Headingley until at least the end of the 2009 season.
Senior, who joined Leeds from Sheffield Eagles in 1999, said: "It is good to get it sorted out nice and early. My intentions were always to stay at Leeds and I am delighted we have agreed a new deal."
He added: "Leeds are one of the best clubs in world rugby, the organisation ticks all the right boxes in terms of facilities and professionalism and there is still a lot more for the current crop of players to achieve.
"Brian McClennan has come in and added an extra bounce in the step of the players and these are exciting times to be a Leeds Rhino. I want to finish my career at the top with Leeds.
"At this stage of my career, you have to take it one year at a time and I will see how I feel this time next year.
"However, I am feeling great at the moment and enjoying my rugby and that is the most important thing."
Senior, who has won 33 caps, is one of only seven players to appear in all 13 seasons of summer rugby and holds two Super League records with 320 appearances and 163 tries.
Coach McClennan said: "This is fantastic news for the club. Keith has huge respect from his fellow players and the coaching staff.
"The form he has already shown this season is the type of form that could take him to the World Cup in Australia at the end of the year."
