Lewis can still surprise me - Father

The result opened up a seven-point gap over bitter McLaren rival Fernando Alonso, who was demoted from pole to sixth on the grid after qualifying as stewards declared he had deliberately impeded Hamilton in the pit lane, preventing the 22-year-old from setting a final hot lap.
Hamilton snr was left stunned by the performance as he said: "What happened on Saturday was forgotten. He had to focus on the Sunday otherwise he would have been in trouble. I have to admit he surprised even me because he was under a hell of a lot of pressure."
He added: "If he was worrying about anything then he wouldn't have won the race, not with the Ferrari breathing down his neck.
"If he had been thinking about anything else then he would have been lost. It just shows what a focused young man he is.
"With everything that had gone on I was thinking 'How the hell do you get in a car and hardly make a mistake'?
"It was a true performance - I must have taught him something right but I'm not sure what. I wish I had some of it though."
It was a result that left him "totally happy," in contrast to the despondent look he wore immediately after qualifying.
As for the troubles with Alonso, Anthony believes Lewis will not be fazed and it will continue to be a case of business as usual.
"We're here to do a job, and as far as I'm aware we're going to continue doing that," added Hamilton. "If there's anything else going on in the background, then we will leave everyone to worry about it."
