Lippi plays it cool over England post

The 59-year-old, who led the Azzurri to the World Cup last season, is among the candidates to succeed Steve McClaren, who was sacked on Thursday following England's failure to qualify for Euro 2008.
"I have not received any telephone calls," admitted Lippi in Friday's La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But if it happens we will see."
Lippi, who has been taking a sabbatical since guiding Italy to World Cup glory in Germany, has turned down offers from England in the recent past.
Earlier this week Birmingham City announced that the former Juve coach had rejected an offer to guide the Premiership club.
On whether he would lead England, Lippi said: "I don't think it will happen because I have always turned down English offers."
The former Juventus boss admitted the chances of him coaching in England are slim because of the language barrier.
"I love the Premier League but I don't speak English," he said. "Considering the way I see and experience football this is a big handicap, because a coach above all guides players and my primary concept is the squad."
