The 22-year-old strained his flexor muscle near his hip and missed the start of the season, but he is closing in on a return to add firepower to Reading's attack.
"I started kicking the ball on Monday so I'm going to train and see how it goes," he said. "I hope to be fit enough for Bolton, I feel fine and the injury feels okay."
He added: "There's still a little bit there but I can do all the kicking and other things and I'm feeling good and ready to go."
Lita impressed for England Under-21s at the European Championships this summer and is in line for a new contract at the Madejski Stadium.
The former Bristol City striker is determined to help Reading build on their debut season in the Premier League, and feels Steve Coppell's men can have another successful season.
The immediate target is three points at the Reebok Stadium.
Lita said: "A lot of teams can beat each other," he said. "As far as the top four go, they are battling for the title and you just leave them to that.
"But for the rest of the teams, we just have to make sure we treat every game as a big game and push forward.
"Bolton have obviously had a difficult last three games but they are going to be at home on Saturday and will be looking for our first win. We are going to go there looking for a win as well so it will be a tough game for both teams."
