Lowes keen on Warrington job

The ex-Leeds and Bradford player has been placed in temporary charge of the Wolves since the departure of Paul Cullen a week ago and was on Tuesday busy preparing the side for Sunday's engage Super League game at Harlequins, but revealed for the first time that he believes he is ready to take on the role of head coach.
"I think you'd be daft not to want the position," he said. "It's a very ambitious club with quality players."
He added: "There's always stuff to learn and opportunities to work with certain people but certainly learning as a front man would probably be the time to do that.
"I definitely feel I'm ready for it."
Lowes, who joined Warrington last July after being overlooked for the head coaching position at Salford, hopes to resolve his future after the trip to Harlequins.
"I've been put in charge for now," he said. "As for what's going to happen over the next month or so I don't really know.
"I've not sat down and talked to the board fully yet. I want to get everybody back smiling, concentrate on that and maybe sit down with them next week and talk about the long term.
"We just need to get a couple of wins. Everybody is gutted about what has gone on, myself included. But the nature of our business is that this happens sometimes and you have to put your personal sorrows to one side. We all have our jobs to do.
"I am sure the lads will feel gutted for a while yet because Cull has been a massive part of this club but they've got to put the disappointment aside for training and match time. They've turned up this week and done that."
