Maccarinelli denies retirement talk

After hinting his fighting days were over after being stopped on his feet in the third round against Denis Lebedev in Manchester on Saturday, Maccarinelli appeared to confirm to local media in south Wales on Monday morning that he would hang his gloves up.
However, the Swansea fighter said: "The reports are incorrect. I am still undecided over my future and will sit down with my promoter and manager, Frank Warren, to discuss it."
Saturday's loss followed a knockout defeat by Ola Afolabi in March as Maccarinelli attempted to rebuild following his spectacular knockout by domestic rival David Haye last year.
After such a listless performance against Russian Lebedev, Maccarinelli admitted he was all but certain to retire and reportedly told thisissouthwales.co.uk: "That's it, there was nothing there on Saturday, that wasn't me.
"Take nothing away from Lebedev, he was a strong fighter, but everyone who has seen me and knows me will recognise that two years ago this kid wouldn't have gone two rounds with me.
"There was just nothing there and I am gutted."
