Magpies in new Allardyce talks

Neither the club nor the Allardyce camp was commenting with negotiations at a delicate stage, although chairman Freddy Shepherd remains hopeful of unveiling Allardyce in days.
Newcastle are keen to finalise a deal, with Stuart Pearce's future at Manchester City the subject of speculation.
Allardyce has been linked with City, although Shepherd, having identified his target, will hope to make the breakthrough soon.
Comments from both men over the weekend gave a positive slant to talks, and the Magpies' need to find a replacement for Glenn Roeder quickly increased on Sunday at the end of a dreadful season.
The 1-1 draw at relegated Watford saw the Magpies finish in 13th place with their lowest Premiership points total, 43.
That would have been enough cause for concern had it not been accompanied by further disappointment.
The sight of Michael Owen being carried off on a stretcher at Vicarage Road was, thankfully for Newcastle, not as depressing as it looked with the 27-year-old said to be suffering only from mild concussion after a collision with team-mate Matty Pattison.
In addition, midfielder Charles N'Zogbia was withdrawn from the 16 after apparently voicing his displeasure at being named among the substitutes.
Arsenal have been linked with the 20-year-old Frenchman, although his conduct will have done little to endear him to supporters.
