Maloney agrees Hull deal

Hull have signed prop forward Dominic Maloney on a 12-month deal for 2009 from National League club Dewsbury.

The 21-year-old grandson of former Hull favourite John Maloney had been attracting the attention of several Super League clubs after a series of impressive performances for the Rams.

"I am delighted to have signed this deal," he said. "It is a great opportunity for me and I would love to follow in my grandfather's footsteps."

John Maloney scored 1,462 points in 226 appearances for Hull from 1965 to 1971 and is second only to Joe Oliver in the club's record books.

His son Francis - Dominic's uncle - is currently playing with Batley after previous spells at Oldham, Castleford, Salford and Wakefield.
