McClennan refuses to criticise Alibert

Leeds coach Brian McClennan bit his tongue after his side had two tries disallowed by French video referee Thierry Alibert in a 10-6 defeat at Bradford.

Half-backs Rob Burrow and Danny McGuire were both denied long-range scores as the engage Super League champions suffered their second defeat of the season to miss the chance to return to the top of the table.

"I've got thoughts about them but I'll keep them to myself," he said. "I don't want to take away what Bradford did. There were a couple of other decisions that I'm unsure of but that's the way it goes."

Leeds led 6-0 thanks to Jamie Jones-Buchanan's try midway through the first half but the Bulls equalised six minutes before the break when second rower Michael Worrincy scored his first try for the club.

Fortunes then swung from end to end in a drama-filled second half, with winger Rikki Sheriffe pouncing for the match-winning try 13 minutes from the end after the Rhinos had been reduced to 12 men with the sin-binning of Carl Ablett.

"Well done to Bradford," added McClennan.

"There was a lot of desperation and a lot of courage in their play.

"You could see a side that really needed those two points. They did a good job, they played tough tonight.

"I'm actually pretty pleased with some aspects of our game. Our defence was a lot better.

"We did some good things, we just didn't get cracking along in attack but that's credit to Bradford. They got numbers in and controlled the ruck pretty well."
