It took the Black Caps just six overs to surpass Bangladesh's total of 93, with Brendon McCullum smashing 80 off 28 balls.
McCullum struck nine fours and six sixes to end the match early.
Earlier in the day, skipper Daniel Vettori claimed five wickets for just seven runs, while Kyle Mills and Michael Mason picked up two wickets each as Bangladesh struggled with the bat.
Mills made the initial breakthrough in the third over, removing Junaid Siddique for one after the opener edged the ball onto his stumps.
Tamim Iqbal and Mohammad Ashraful toiled to take the Bangladesh total up to 41 after 15 overs before Tamim edged a Mason delivery into the safe hands of Scott Styris at first slip.
It triggered a middle-order collapse, with three wickets falling for only five runs.
Ashraful, who top-scored for his side with 25, became Mason's second victim when he was caught at fine leg by Jacob Oram, and Tushar Imran fell for one after edging Oram to wicketkeeper McCullum.
Vettori picked up his first wicket when Aftab Ahmed was caught at short fine leg by Mathew Sinclair for 19, and the left-arm spinner then swept through the lower order.
Abdur Razzak was last man out, caught at third man by Chris Martin off a Mills delivery.
