McKenzie stars as draw looms

Neil McKenzie completed his fourth Test century on Sunday as the first Test between India and South Africa meandered towards a draw.

Proteas opener McKenzie went into tea unbeaten on 139, anchoring South Africa's second innings of 289 for four, an overall lead of 211.

McKenzie started the fifth and final day on 59 and has rarely looked troubled.

He brought up his three figures in an afternoon session which also saw two South African wickets fall.

The first was that of Jacques Kallis, who made 19 before departing to a wonderful catch by RP Singh at square leg off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh.

Harbhajan claimed his third wicket of the innings two overs later, Ashwell Prince (five) lunging forward only to see the ball clip the glove on its way to Wasim Jaffer at short leg.

India came into the final day needing early wickets to snatch an unlikely win but their chances of victory were undermined by some sloppy fielding.

Hashim Amla was dropped twice in the opening session, once by Sreesanth and once by RP Singh.

However, Amla's luck finally ran out shortly before lunch when, having made 81, he edged an Anil Kumble delivery to Rahul Dravid at first slip.
