McLeish reveals new Boyd talks

The Coca-Cola Championship high-flyers agreed a fee with the Glasgow outfit last week, believed to be in the region of £3.75million, but talks over personal terms stalled due to both parties being some way apart.
McLeish later admitted he believed the deal was "dead" but refused to rule it out completely, and he has now revealed Blues have again spoken to Boyd and his agent, Mark Donaghy, in an attempt to secure the 25-year-old's services.
"I'm aware that they have talked to (managing director) Karren (Brady) again so it's not dead until it's dead, if you know what I mean," said McLeish in the Birmingham Mail.
"But there are plans to do something else, so we will have to wait and see what happens."
Despite the fact personal terms could not be agreed, Brady claimed that the offer put on the table from Blues was not derisory.
Brady said: "There's not another club in the Championship, even some in the Premier League, who could offer what we have.
"It's a good deal more than he's paid at Rangers, with big benefits too if we're promoted."
Elsewhere, McLeish also revealed Blues had approached West Ham over a possible deal for centre-back Calum Davenport before his move to Bolton collapsed last week. And he has not ruled out bringing the 26-year-old to St Andrews as he looks to bolster the club's promotion charge.
"I will have to pose the question to Karren, she had been talking with West Ham United and we left our proposal with them," said the Blues boss "Whether they now come back to us, that's a possibility."
