McManaman rules out Blues post

The club's leading shareholder Carson Yeung was set to recommend the former Liverpool and England winger for a boardroom position, alongside Fan Zhiyi, in a bid to represent his 29.9% stake in Blues.
But although there is still scheduled to be an extraordinary general meeting after Wednesday night's annual general meeting, Yeung is no longer expected to attend and McManaman told the Daily Mirror: "I am not standing any more and don't want to be nominated. It was all a bit of a mistake."
Opposition to McManaman's appointment had already been made clear by managing director Karren Brady, who earlier this month said: "Carson Yeung is back in touch and wants to put Steve McManaman and Fan Zhiyi on our board to represent his 29.9% interest in Birmingham City. It means that we will have to hold an EGM and I have to say, what a waste of time.
"There is no chance of shareholders, including club co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold and the rest of the board, voting for them."
