Megson hits out at Tigers tactics
18 January 2009
Megson claims a member of the Tigers' backroom staff went into the official's room at half-time to complain about Davies.
"I was getting a little bit annoyed with what was going on. I know a member of Hull's staff went into the referee's room and was moaning about Kevin Davies." the Wanderers manager told The Bolton News.
After the interval, the Bolton captain was involved in the major flashpoint in the 1-1 draw when his tackle on Andy Dawson in front of the dugouts provoked a furious reaction from the Hull bench.
Tigers assistant boss Brian Horton had to be restrained by a police officer but Megson claims the protests had started long before then.
"He's as honest as the day is long and I don't take kindly to any bench, not just Hull's, trying to get him booked to gain an advantage."
Davies was also not impressed by the conduct of Hull's backroom staff.
"The way their bench over-reacted was disappointing," he said.
"I'd heard they had been on to the ref at half-time saying I was leading with the elbow. That shows how desperate they were."
