Megson upbeat over Gardner injury

Bolton manager Gary Megson has allayed fears over the injury to Ricardo Gardner and is still hopeful the player may be available for the weekend.

The 30-year-old limped out of Saturday's defeat at Portsmouth after just 12 minutes with a hamstring problem. However, Megson is confident the player will be able to return to action fairly soon.

"We'll see for the game this Saturday (against Aston Villa) but it might come a little too quickly," he told the club's website, bwfc.co.uk. "He has been terrific, had his best goalscoring season and his qualities on the ball and his pace have been a big plus for us. We'll be disappointed if he isn't available for Saturday."
