Meli signs Saints contract extension

St Helens' New Zealand winger Francis Meli has signed an extension to his contract that will keep him at Knowsley Road until end of the 2010 season.

The 26-year-old has scored 26 tries in 46 appearances since joining Saints from New Zealand Warriors two years ago.

"We are naturally delighted that Francis has committed his future to the club, said chairman Eamonn McManus. He has formed a great partnership with his fellow Kiwi Willie Talau, which is feared across the competition, and has played a key role in our success to date."
