Mifsud inspires shock win

Michael Mifsud struck twice as mighty Manchester United were dumped out of the Carling Cup by Coventry 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Mifsud gave the Sky Blues a first-half lead when he stole in at the far post to convert Michael Doyle's low cross, then doubled Coventry's advantage by finishing off a solo effort 19 minutes from time.

The Malta international should have had a hat-trick too but unbelievably fired wide of an open goal after Tomasz Kuszczak had spilled a free-kick into his path.
