Miller: We weren't good enough

Kenny Miller admits Rangers' humiliating 4-1 Champions League defeat by Unirea Urziceni at Ibrox on Tuesday night was a result "waiting to happen".

Despite being top of the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, the Light Blues have been criticised for most of the season due to the poor standard of their football which was punished by the little-known Romanian side.

Scotland striker Miller said: "It wasn't a lack of concentration, we weren't good enough - as simple as that."

He added: "We have not been playing well as a team in the domestic campaign and that showed. I think a result like that was waiting to happen for us.

"There is no doubt we do have the players who can play better than that but, up until now, we have not been firing.

"We have been kind of sneaking results rather than going and winning games. There is obviously a lot of hard work to be done.

"We are not doing the right things as a team, not just as individuals.

"We are not playing well and we will have to rectify it quickly or we will find ourselves out of the Champions League.

"But as much as it was a shocking result for us, we are still in the group if we go over there and win and then get Stuttgart at home.

"Those next two games will shape the group."
